Alan Alda and His Undeniable Impact on MASH

During the show's 11 seasons, viewers of "M*A*S*H" witnessed a shift in tone that was undeniably influenced by Alan Alda's desire to see the show move in a different direction creatively.  Here are my thoughts about whether or not this gradual change was a good thing.
